STARLIGHT
ILEX is a lovely combination of Welsh Pony and Top European Warmblood genetics, making him a superb riding pony sire. Starlight Ilex has outstanding movement with great freedom of shoulder
and push off the ground in all three gaits, making him an ideal sire of
dressage and jumping ponies.
Already
catching the eyes of overseas judges, Starlight Ilex was judged Champion Welsh Partbred Exhibit of the Year 2012 at Horse of the Year Show.
STARLIGHT
ILEX is by Cat A stallion Glynmawr Ironbark whom was2002 he was Supreme Champion Overall Stallion at the Welsh
Colt and Stallion Show. In 2003 he was Supreme Champion Welsh Exhibit at the
Waikato Allbreeds show, and is proving to produce exceptional riding ponies out of thoroughbred
and warmblood mares.

ILEX’s Dam Sienna is a super moving mare by the imported sire Salutation,
Salutation was exported to
New Zealand, Salutation,
son of
the famous Sandro Hit, Sandro Hit
was 1999 6Yr World and Bundes Champion; Diamond Hit – 5Yr Reserve World & Bundes Ch in 2002; and Don Schufro rated by the German Federation as the 2004 top dressage breeding stallion in
all of Germany. Fienna also
has an exceptional lineage that includes famous stallions Welt Hit II, Weltmeyer and Donnerhall. Fienna’s grand dam, Fantastica,
produced Sunny Boy and is also a full sister to Don Schufro.
Salutation’s grand dam is the famous elite mare Loretta who has produced a
number of exceptional horses, including Sandro Hit, Diamond Hit, and Royal Hit. Her dam
sire Welt As produced the dressage 2000 Olympic gold medallist,
Bonfire, ridden by Anky van Grunsven. Sandro,
Welt As and Calypso II also have sired a number of top jumping horses currently
breeding and competing in Europe.

Girl had exceptional movement and a careful scopey jumper who’s career was cut short due to
her untimely death.
