Starlight Zing
Bay Mare born December 2004
Super powerful with super jump. Out of a small yet very talented Young Rider mare (Natural Vision). Sadley Zing's competition future was never realised due to injury which has forced this mare to the broodmare paddock.
Starlight Zing is by Corlando. Corlando is a quality Holsteiner stallion. He possesses a terrific temperament and has enormous jumping ability. His paces are elevated and ground covering. His pedigree features some of the world's most renowned Holsteiners. These sire lines have been huge influences in dressage and showjumping throughout the world.
Corlando's sire, Contango II, has had a major influence in warmblood breeding in Australia, with progeny being highly sought after internationally.
Contango II's sire, Contango I, won eight out of 10 grand prix dressage starts in the US.
Corlando's dam, Lamona (by Lander), has produced numerous top performers in both disciplines, including the Australian national dressage champion Fleetentanze, and the showjumpers Deutschlander and Landman. Lander competed successfully at grand prix dressage and world cup showjumping.

Euripedes
Chestnut Warmblood mare, 15.2hh
(Pictured with her 2 day old foal)
Euripedes is a powerful warmblood mare with excellent movement. She is by the imported Dutch Warmblood Stallion Ramzes II, a son of the highly regarded and important Holsteiner stallion in Holland Rigoletto and grandson to the famous Ramzes himself. Rigoletto was very successful at producing jumping horses. Much can be learned about Rigoletto on this site www.avalon-equine.com
Ramzes II left many excellent jumping and dressage horses in NZ, sadly he was only used over a handful of mares in NZ and his importance not entirely appreciated until after his death. One of his most interesting progeny in NZ is the dressage stallion Belmont Golden Boy ridden very successfully to Advanced level by Jody Hartstone. Euripedes is out of a thoroughbred mare by Head Hunter, whom has been a very notable sire at producing jumpers in NZ.
Euripedes has her first foal by Damontez LS, born 2/09/07. A beautiful chestnut filly named Starlight Demeter.

Natural Vision
Chestnut Mare, 15hh, born 1982
Natural Vision is by the thoroughbred sire Mighty Oak carries the bloodlines of numerous successful sport horses internationally, a producer himself of racing hurdlers and steeple chasers. Her grandsire Oakville is also a well noted producer of jumping horses in NZ. Might Oak’s dam line goes back to Blue Peter and other influential bloodlines such as Precipitation that can be found in jumping bloodlines internationally, particularly that of the Holsteiner jumping horses, through such horses as Lady Killer.
Not much is know about the dam of Natural Vision except that she was a Palomino Pony, this would account for her small stature, her quick, intelligent nature, strong robust constitution and a her huge generous heart. Competed successfully in Young Rider classes (1.25m—1.40m) and a consistent open 1.30m show jumper, she also evented, proving herself also to be brave and clean. Powerful energetic high stepping movement and a positive attitude to work.

Starlight Kalan
Chestnut mare, 16.2hh, born 2003
(Pictured as a 3 year old, and below with Starlight Luxus at foot)
Starlight Kalan is a long lined attractive mare with a fantastic topline and beautiful head. A wonderful calm outlook on life, powerful with adequate gaits and excellent form over fences, currently in training for sport and had one foal for last season for Starlight Farm, Starlight Luxus by top performer and producer Lux Z.
Starlight Kalan is by the NZWB stallion Never Never, a proven producer of show jumpers in NZ like Air Force One and HR Serious Moonlight. Never Never’s dam Songline is by the Hanoverian stallion Wohler II; Wohler II was by Wohler whom was the top graded stallion through the testing for his year—noted for his good temperament and extreme movement. Wohler produced international stallions Wenzel, World Cup I, II and III and Woerman whom had 21 graded sons serving in West Germany by 1989. This line was primarily a dressage line.
Never Never’s great grand dam on both sides Sorceress was a thoroughbred mare and the dam of New Zealand National Warmblood Champion Dreamtime (Never Never’s grand dam), the enormously successful International eventer Danzar by Distelfink, the approved NZWB stallion Wonderkind by Wohler II and Sorello (Never Never’s grand dam) also National Warmblood Champion herself by Allermund, Allermund by Absatz by Abglanz who was by Termit, a Trakhener stallion. He and his progeny did much to bring about the desired improvement in the head and neck of the Hanoverian breed. The blood line is very popular in Germany with well over 20 descendants from the male line standing at stud today and considerable numbers elsewhere in Europe, Great Britain and America. Allermund only stood in New Zealand for two seasons but still managed to leave some noted horses including the very successful show jumping mare Antipodes.
Starlight Kalan’s dam Vallings was competed lightly in sport and hunted, she was by the notable sport horse thoroughbred sire Fox Valley. Her grand dam Winnewitz was by the Winnetou son Witzbold, whom had one of the most significant influences on the NZ Hanoverian breed so far in NZ, producing many well performed horses and being much sought after as a dam sire in the 1990’s. His progeny include the Olympic dressage mare Waikare, and also in dressage Mosaic and Playskool. Monopoly was a world ranked show jumper, representing Canada at the Olympics, and Witzmarc represented The Netherlands at the Olympics in eventing.
Further down Kalan’s dam line features another Winnetou son Winnebago whose most notable progeny include dressage horses Felicitation and Waldebago, and the NZ Show Jumper Bago whom represented NZ at the Olympics ridden by Mark Todd.
